To solve symptoms of ear discomfort, we have purchased a micro suction ear toileting device that is used to clear the inner ear. Micro suction earwax removal is performed using a microscope, and a medical suction device to remove the wax. A very thin steel pipe is fitted to the end of the suction tube which allows us to gently suck out the earwax from your canal.

Why micro suction? Micro suction is accepted across the medical profession as the safest and most comfortable method of earwax removal .With no liquids being used there is no fuss or mess during the procedure. The doctor has an enhanced view of both the ear canal and the earwax, making the procedure easier and safer for you. This is usually undertaken in a few minutes. It is required that you use an over the counter ear softening product three days prior to the procedure.

For the ear micro suction procedure there is an out of pocket charge of $65.

GP Pregnancy care is a collaborative model which allows women who have been assessed as being health with a normal singleton pregnancy and with no significant past pregnancy problems, to have most of their antenatal care with their GP while having a baby in hospital, under the care of an obstetrician team including registered midwife, hospital doctor and specialist obstetrician. This care option allows families to continue to receive care from their GP close to their home and to build a relationship with the practice that will be invaluable after the birth of their baby.

It also allows GP’s to:

  • Share with the patient the unique experience of pregnancy
  • Provide skilled, broad and responsive antenatal/postnatal care
  • Co-ordinate the growing number of early pregnancy assessments and management plans that are increasingly important in maximising optimal pregnancy outcomes.
  • Provide lifestyle and vaccination advice
  • Be aware if the special needs of the family during the first year after the birth of your baby and onwards.
