The Summerdale Medical Practice does not routinely bulk bill.
Successive federal governments have failed to support the Medicare rebate and the current rebates no longer in any way reflect the cost of delivering a quality medical
service. In the early 1980s fee negotiations between the medical profession and government ceased and since then the government has determined the level of the rebate without any input from the medical profession. Practices that exclusively bulk bill struggle to deliver quality service and need to see patients quickly to survive. The Summerdale Medical Practice charges fees that ensure we continue to deliver a quality and comprehensive service.
Doctors individually determine the fee to be charged. The average out-of-pocket/gap payment fees for a private patient (no concession cards), if paid on the day, are:
|Patient Service||Gap Fee|
|Nurse Procedure||$20.00 (maximum $20 per week)|
|Childhood Immunisation||No gap payment|
