The Summerdale Medical Centre provides a 24 hour medical service. Regular surgery hours are 8am to 8pm weekdays and is now in in its 25th year of opening all weekend: 9am – 12pm and 3pm – 6pm Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Closed Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Years Day only. A limited number of Saturday morning appointments are available for pre-booking with the remainder kept for urgent appointments.
For after hours care or emergencies please phone (03) 6344 7177. If you ring and the surgery has closed you will be directed to the national based Health Direct service where a nurse will triage your call and if GP advice or treatment is required you will be then directed to the Tasmanian based GP Assist service. A GP from this Practice is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week and can be contacted by GP Assist whenever required. If the Health Direct service is not providing you with the information you require insist on being connected to GP Assist as they are Tasmanian based and are able to contact the GP on call. If you have any difficulties with either of these triage services please contact and advise our Practice so we can investigate and remedy any issues.
